Run To End Poverty is proud to support Engineers Without Borders’ development initiatives in Africa. Each of our R2EP teams across Canada fundraise to support EWB’s overseas initiatives, and we strive to keep our operational costs to a bare minimum to maximize the impact of donor dollars.
Each R2EP runner supports EWB’s overseas initiatives in two ways:
First, every R2EP city team is partnered with an EWB initiative in Burkina Faso, Ghana, Malawi or Zambia (see Connecting to Africa), and the majority of funds raised support this partner program directly. Information on these partnerships can be found on the home page for each city team.
Second, a portion of funds raised will support local EWB chapter’s efforts to send volunteers to work within one of EWB’s programs overseas. More information on EWB’s volunteer sending programs can be found here.
Altogether, donor dollars go a long way towards building capacity and creating opportunity in partner communities across Africa.
